Week one on Sugar Smart Diet

Actually its more like two weeks down.  The first week is just starting to be more aware of your sugar intake.  Track how much sugar you are consuming and your attitude towards it.  I'm not huge on doing that but I did watch more and was more aware.

So I lost 8 pounds the first week.  Which is really impressive I think.  Makes me really happy.  It really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.   I thought I would miss my morning coffee way more then I did.  I now make my shake with it, which is totally yummy and I don't feel like I am depriving myself of anything.  

No fruit this week.  Which was harder for me then anything.  I love apples, oranges, cherries, watermelon and such.  This week it was added back and I enjoyed an apple at breakfast, watermelon and dinner and peach with ricotta cheese for dessert.

Bread is also coming back, in a limited way.  I think its one piece of low sugar bread a day.  Since I have a love, love relationship with bread it is still on the no list for me.  I need to put together my meal plan for this week.  Making sure to have choice that my family will eat and that I can eat to.  I do lots of subs.  So on spaghetti night I have spaghetti squash instead of pasta.  On taco night, I make a taco salad.
